Growing up I had no exposure to firearms. My parents sent me away to college the farthest west you could go and still be in Illinois. There, the guy next door was a Vietnam veteran and the guy on the floor below me was an Special Forces sniper. I could listen to them talk about guns all day. The guys I met from town all went squirrel hunting and all used the same gun, a Savage 22/410. I bought one so I could tag along. Today, some 40 years later after countless books, magazines, and discussions with people far more knowledgeable than my self, I'm in awe at how little I know. Around my circle of friends I'm pretty good but if gun knowledge were a 440 tin of ammo I would possess 1 cartridge. This sight has been like those college years, just tagging along and learning what I can. Just wanted to say how much I appreciate the info.

Glad you like it here. :great:
I think we all learn from others, and this place is a great place for knowledge.
One thing I like about this place is you don't find the gun snobs here like you will on some other forums.
Most of us are Po' Folk, so we don't believe you have to spend $1000 to defend yourself.

I'll third that one. It's nice to gain active members. Seems like just yesterday I was the new guy. I've enjoyed this group of misfits quite a lot.

I ain't no Einstein when it comes to guns either...

The guys here are very knowledgeable and are glad to help.

Tolly even has some stuff on youtube I enjoy!!
He has one where he takes a Hi-Point mag apart and cleans it.
I didn't know you could do that!! I should watch it again and clean my mags.
Some are used a lot and a few years old - a cleaning would be good for them!

But I haven't taken the time to watch Tollys videos for awhile...
One of these days I'll sit down and watch a bunch and get caught up!!

Glad you like it here.

If not for all the stuff I've picked up from the guys around here, I'd probably have blown myself up by now. I've had lots of help solving problems and acquired new techniques from the knowledgeable folks around this place more times than I can count, they're a great bunch of gun guys.

I'm glad that you guys like our home away from home... I feel none of us are old enough or smart enough that we cannot learn something from our fellow man. I know I learn new things all of the time.

This forum is one of the best IMHO and its all because of the people that hang out here.
