I've been wanting to put a safe in my truck for my concealed carry firearm. It's not always convenient to work and carry in the summer months, so I only keep the firearm on me when I'm in less than desirable areas. I just need something to prevent the "smash and grab" thief. I was looking at the Harbor freight .19 cubic ft (62982) because it's cheap and small... maybe too small. Interior space is 6 1/2 x 5 7/8? Fine for the Kel Tec 32, but the C9 might not fit, should I ever want to carry my trusty Hi Point. Anybody have one of these little $29 safes?

I'm always in my truck. I do get in and out quite a bit so I keep my Taurus M85 and 4 speed strips of 38 +P in the pack I carry every day (I keep my lunch and snacks in it too along with a change of clothes).

I only work a few hours a month, but I'm on call 24/7 and if I get a call it will likely be to someplace very security conscious. So, I got one of these. It comes with a cable that I attached to the passenger seat mount and the 'safe' slides under the seat out of sight. It won't stop a determined thief with time and tools, but I've not found anything that will. It's big enough to hold my Glock 23, Sig 250, or Kel-Tec P-11, with my cell phone (can't even carry my phone into a prison), or my JS-45 (same as JHP) without the cell phone. I don't carry the JS-45 so that's not really a problem.

I should probably get some kind of safe but my bag is normally have my bag with me except when I have to go in for my paper work and then I lock my truck for that couple minutes.
