I had made this really great friend who was a licensed guide. He took me under his wing and taught me the professional side of hunting.

So one fall I decided to go bear hunting on the Mogollon Rim in N. Arizona. So after walking in a good 6 or 7 miles, I came to good spot, lots of bear sign, so I set up my tripod and began calling. While sitting there glassing, I was kind of digging my fingers into the ground, no reason, just something to do while glassing. All of a sudden I feel something, and when I dug it completely out, I discovered it was a wallet. When I opened it I found money, credit cards, and an Arizona driver license, the name on the license was that of my friend the guide.

Here's the real kicker, he had lost the wallet almost 20 years earlier while hunting bear in that same exact spot. I got home that night pretty late, like around 11:00 pm, but since he only lived one street over from me, I decided to go knock on his door. He opened the door looking kind of surprised, maybe even a bit ticked off that I would show up at such a late hour. But when he asked me what was up, I handed him the wallet, he just said what is this, as it was almost unrecognizable, I just said open it Jim and look at the driver license, and when he did he almost couldn't believe it.

What's the odds of that? Million to one? Specially after that long.

If the mentally deficient are not allowed to own guns then why should they be allowed to make gun laws?

No kidding. what are the odds? Yet I never win a lottery, raffle, or any other contest. Who knows, maybe I'll win this one?

Just the fact that anyone would have found that wallet buried 5 or 6 inches in the dirt, is one thing, but someone that knows you, a best friend at that? It had endured 20 years of heavy snow fall, rain, the Mogollon Rim country has a weather system all it's own. Then toss into the mix that this is some really remote country, so remote that it isn't too darn hard to get lost up there, I know I did one time.
