Ummm, can we have a "Consciences Objector"?

I have very vocal thoughts about the slaying of innocent paper: Sure, they gussy up to be targets, or silhouetes: They are still innocent Pieces of Paper! Can you not realize that man!?

;) sounds good amigo.

What about collateral paper damage? What if I'm aiming for my penny sized target, and I hit the newspaper that was just there minding its own business?

Here's a serious question. Does anyone know the calculation to convert a penny sized at 50 yards to X at 25 yards? My usual range is indoors and the pistol range only goes to 25 and the rifle to 50 (but they won't let me take a pistol on the rifle range)

We're haveing bad weather here today and it's going to get worse later today ( there are tornado warnings out all ready). If it's nice tomorrow I'll give it a shot ! Can we submit different entries for different guns ?

A penny at 50 yds = about half a penny at 25 yards, right?

I don't think changing the size at a closer range is quite the same though? :-?
You lose the difficulty of having to account for bullet drop and lack of visability IMO.

I will attempt it this weekend with 3 guns, my 1900 Carl Gustaf M96 Swedish Mauser in 6.5 Swede, My favorite Mosin M38 and probably my Type 99 Arisaka in 7.7 Jap. All open sights.

I agree, but it makes a good starting point as you build confidence...

No, it's not, but there are ways of doing it. That's what the Appleseed guys do, for example to simulate a man sized target at 500 yards, since they shoot on much shorter ranges.

And cutting it in half doesn't work, from what I've heard, Something about the diameter of the bullet size being disproportional then.

There's actually a formula, if I'm not mistaken. I actually saw it once, but Google is not being my friend today.

Maybe I can just talk the guy into letting me go into the rifle range for a few minutes if there's no one in there.

But I'll give the 1/2 penny 25 yard thing a try first, just for giggles.

What about a special distance for HP carbines? I'm not sure we need it, but I am wondering how the 995/4095 would do at 200 yards, since it is technically a centerfire rifle? And it would be a shame not to have a sniper within our own brand here... :(
Notice, I'm not worried about the rifle, just the ballistics of the 9mm and .40 at that range...

I was hitting 12inch groups at 150yds standing up open sights with the 995, just dicking around. I bet its possible, if you buy the ammo, i will give it a try.

Im layed off all next week. So we should see some kind of results from my lazy ass. :)

The foreign policy of the US has been one of "empire building" ever since the First World War. The Constitution authorizes government to provide for "national DE-fense", not "international OF-fense". If Americans were really interested in promoting our national safety, they would realize that a policy of constant foreign intervention directly undermines that stated goal. Our country has military forces stationed in 135 countries around the world, and we are influencing their governments and economies either directly or indirectly in every case. That is the political equivalent of poking them in the eye with a sharp stick.

Kinda what I figured, sort of an artillery shot more than a sniper shot...
