Hello all, I am new to the HP forums as well as a new HP owner. We had an attempted break-in last Saturday morning while we was setting in the kitchen drinking our morning coffee...9am  Prying at the windows, the whole nine yards. At the time I was unarmed, so I avoided confrontation...however my family is no longer without protection :doublegun2:

I bought the .45, I have yet to shoot it as it's been raining just about non stop since I got it. I really like the feel of it and the heft, as I've read on here helps with recoil.

Anyways, this looks like a real informative and insightful forum and look forward to learning what I can about this firearm.

Nothin fancy, I would like to get a tact light for it, I seen in a post on here someone linked to streamlight, looked like it might actually fit, I'm going to email them and ask.

welcome, and good choice for a HD/SD weapon. cant go wrong with a hipoint, i myself would really like the 45.. definately take it through its paces at the range get used to it. i never hear of the 40's and 45's needing a break in period like the 9mm(although mine never failed). but it definately doesnt hurt to get a feel for it. and adjust sights if need be. give us a range report once the weather clears up

I think the JHP is an excellent choice. Since you've been around the forum some, I guess I don't need warn you about what you've gotten yourself into.

So, what part of Ohio?

sorry to hear about the attempted break in, get out there asap and put some rounds though that pistol to get used to it and see if it is going to need a break in or some tinkering to make it 100%

I suggest you load up the mags now and let them set, many of us think it helps break them in.

keep us updated.

Happy shooting Dave Gillespie - (Sharp Shooter), you will be missed and remembered.

We will miss you Jerry Roberts - (woodyubet), you will not be forgotten.

We are better off from having known you Dean Stephens -(ampersand) It wont be the same around here without you.

Welcome to the group!

I assume, as you talked about experience with guns, you have a rifle or two?
Regardless, start saving a few pennies, as you are going to want a 4595 carbine pretty soon! :thumb:
