Well...that's disappointing. They sent the meat rub but no jerky? I'd send it all back and keep the trigger in retaliation...

Got the LaRue trigger installed today, and man what a difference. :great:
This thing breaks clean with virtually no over-travel.
The specs say it's 2 1/2 pounds on the first stage and 2 pounds on the break, and I'd say that's pretty close.
After the gritty, heavy old trigger, this thing seems amazing.
The Little Woman asked why I need a new trigger when the old one is just fine.
I told her that when you are trying to hit a small hunk of steel at 200-300 yards, you don't want to be arm wrestling with your trigger.
I'm hoping to get time to shoot it this weekend, and I'll let you know how it works.

Randy I don't know if its because I shoot rifles left handed but I have never been good at bump firing from the hip. Besides, with my bump fire stock I can fire from the shoulder and have controlled aimed bursts. Almost like shooting a full auto in the military.

hehehe...I've never actually done it myself, just read on how it's done. It doesn't look easy at any rate.

I've never had the opportunity to shoot anything full auto. Some neighbors around the corner from me (about a mile from me as the crow flies) go into their backyard and shoot something full auto at times from what I can hear. :dunno: My range is safe only for aimed shooting. I shoot directly at my neighbors house on my pistols range but it has to go through 500feet of trees, another 1000yards or so downhill, and through their sparse trees to hit anything. It could happen I guess but I always try to hit my berm anyway. My rifle range is in the opposite direction, also down slope. Straight aft of the berm is nothing for miles but the interstate is two miles as the crow flies. I doubt much of what I own will fly that far with a normal shooting trajectory. If I lobbed one up at 45° I could get one that far I spose. :dunno: It's happened if you believe news stories. :hmmm:

Randy back when I was in the Army we had the real full auto M16 rifles none of that 3 round burst crap. I shot them any chance they gave me.

Here is a vid of me with a semi auto AR with a bump fire stock shooting a 20 round burst. Notice how well the barrel stayed on target, and that was only the second mag I had shot using a bump fire stock. They are considered a range toy but I can see a serious use for them if the balloon ever goes up

I remember the full auto M16. I was on a machine gun team and the M60 was a blast to shoot and the 50 damn near gave me a woody.

As part of the civil engineering branch of the AF I seldom had any opportunity to fire the M16. I qualified on it each year without any previous practice.
The one time we had war games where I could go out and shoot blanks on full auto I was laid up with a broken ankle from my motorcycle wreck. Bummer! It wasn't long after that I was discharged.

My first issued M16 had the full auto and we got to run a few mags through it in Basic for familiarization, then when I went regular ARMY I was a TOW gunner so no M16 for me, was issued a .45 was it. Next time I enlisted in the Guards I got the 3-round burst one. Also at one time or another got time behind the M60 and the .50 cal, always fun to burn through someone else's ammo. Never tried to bumpfire. I can go through ammo fast enough as it is.

Yup, no matter how one looks at it, shooting is not an inexpensive hobby.
